Kenya has been invested with commissions after commissions without fruitful results or legal action. This time Kenya must show the true nature of her reputation on domestic policy resulting from tribal and regional electoral differences.
The Waki report which everybody including the world was waiting for was tabled but now Kenyans and donor countries are worshipping the lords to implement it. Some of the Kenyans don’t know whether to carry their holy pamphlets to State House to worship it so as to implement Waki report or to worship elected officials in parliament. If they want Kenyans to worship them there then they should also ask UN for a defined place to worship so Waki report could be implemented.
Elected officials, victims and the world wanted investigations to be held so that necessary measures could be taken against the suspects. Both parties in Kenya agreed; so where do these worms causing disturbances come from?
I have taken a lot of philosec for gases because of the horrible things that happened and still we keep on bestering for our rights to be fulfilled yet they promised they will uncover every thing. Can the Lords hear our cries and give us napkins to dry our faces? Oooh dear Lords!
The mission on Waki report is not just to report and read news about it but Kenyans want justice to be done on issues that brought violence in Kenya. Kenyans are tired of commissions some of which have only wasted tax payer’s money. Kenyans are tired of continuous appointment of commissions that are fruitless and meaningless only to satisfy the outward look without enforcing any of the outcomes.
This time everybody is after the president or the so called boss who decides what is next on this report. If this report is going to be just the report then we shall ask the international community to take action on another culprit who doesn’t want this report to be implemented.
Justice for Victims of Post-Election Violence
Any administration has an obligation to abide by what the electorate says than use impunity to rig elections and stay in office. We shall start with those who purposely triggered election results then come to those who took the law into their hands and eliminated people’s lives including their properties causing hate and tribalism.
A group of supporters are asking for Waki report to be discarded labeling it as biased and taken out of rumor; another group is asking for the Waki report to be implemented and carried by Kenyan justice system; another group is asking for international justice in the Hague to take the matter; and finally another group doesn’t care but pray for the lord to heal the nation. “God gives life and is the only who takes life”.
Post-election violence in Kenya brought the international community to intervene and mediate until coalition government was formed. It is unwise to call for Waki report discarded since there was a mission to accomplish. The best those against it should do is to prepare to go to court and defend themselves and prove the report wrong. The media should not be used to entertain this abuse. Also, a section of those calling for the suspects tried in Kenya are wrong since even State House and the Chief Justice are to blame in many areas. Those calling for ICC in Hague to take the case are right because it is neutral and nobody can reach it to bribe it as it is not known for corruption.
The hope of many is to have justice prevail and accomplished so that the victims may feel recognized. By calling for the WAKI report to be handled in the Kenyan Justice System is like telling Election Commission of Kenya to decide who comes from the bigger tribe to rule Kenya. Let us be sincere and straight by stopping this tribal pneumonia. We are past age to appoint commissions to appease the complainants and those concern. Kenyans and the world need action on the two commissions. The guitar music played to the donkey will not make the donkey dance; implement the report and act upon it. It is becoming like a hearsay on Kenya’s post election violence making it look like nobody killed anybody and nobody was killed.
