In the Christian community he was known as “Kanda”, in the secular community he was known as “K-star” and at his background he is known as Bathlomew Aburi. A young man of his age who has a huge following than his seniors.
He was a celebrity of two categories, Gospel music at Church and Secular music for the community. He was reliable, friendly and applicable to all. One of his favorite said “He was livery and friendly.”
Naomi Bosire said” He was very vibrate, open to people and never got angry. Why did this happen? Why him? It’s only God there is nothing we can do.”
Another friend said “If Kanda was badly raised we could not be here. If he was at the streets we could not be here.”
Racheal Matara said “It’s just a blow. It’s shocking.”
Another friend said “A young people’s man, So sad.”
His friend said “He was known by all ages, there is no hopelessness but emulate what he did so to celebrate his life.”
Alex and Ayisha from Ghana said “He was very approachable, lively, he was open, very outgoing, you see him you’ll like him.”
Moab said “He was my innermost friend. Everything was me and him and everything was him and me.” A candle Vigil was held outside family residence on Sunday 04/06/2014 that was highly attended by youths.
He was music and music was him a God given talent.
The son of Aloys Aburi and Martha Aburi and a brother to Esther Aburi, has left everybody asking why? It’s too cold to bear.
In most times, he is either on the keyboard instructing somebody how to play, or he is singing and composing or he is tuning up instruments to align with his composed song. He had friends of all categories kids, youths to elderly.
“Kanda” a Christian nickname touched many, loved many, he reached many, and he was admired by many as many too were interested to reach him. He socialized with every human being from any denomination. He had quite a lot to do with people of his age, people in the community who knew him as “K-star” as the general Christian audience did. He will be dearly missed by his St. Patrick Jumuia Church choir where he was a key player of God. He was very resourceful to people of his age, general community and the Catholic Church where his faith was based.
People’s admirations are based on how he handled himself character wise, his moral and joyous smile. He was an artist not by school but by talent. He was humble and ready to make friendship. His base was not self built but it was a foundation of his parents who are staunch Catholic.
By and large, now that he has gone the gap within the catholic Community and the larger community will take time to heal. His family has been wounded so badly, the only son, a talented son, a well behaved, a kind son, a polite heart, a hard working , a generous young man, a disciplined lad and an inspiration to many. Yes, he is gone but mountains will never meet but human beings will meet at the last trumpet. Yes, God does provide life generously and he takes willingly.
