A Park is a place of many activities positive to life, but this time around it was a place of ending own life. On Tuesday 08/07/2013 early morning police received a phone call from a female who told them about the a male body hanging at the Lafayette Park. The body was removed by paramedics and rushed to Jersey City medical center and pronounced death. Police have ruled out foul play.
Homicide detectives identified the deceased as Geoffrey Kilibwa using New Jersey Security License tag that had his name and address. That tag made them to go to 124 Arlington Avenue the official residence that is known by many.
Reliable sources say that he was terminated from his job on Monday prior to this incident. He told his boss that “If I lose this job I have nothing to live for”.
Unconfirmed reports also say that after he was terminated he was found by police walking along the road and police suspected something and took him to Roseland police where a female friend was called to pick him up. He was picked with his black bag which is missing to date. The bag had his passport inside.
A neighbor by name Norman on address 122 Arlington Avenue saw him with that bag when he was putting it in the trunk of a car he had at about 5:00PM same day he was fired. He returned that car parked it outside the residence of the female friend and left a note for her. Also, another female after knowing that he died she called his job 2.00AM Thursday morning.
He used to attend Christ of All Nations Church down town Jersey City at boys and girls club building. Geoffrey Kilibwa came to USA on F-1 Visa to Jersey City State College now New Jersey City University in 1985. He graduated with Bachelor of business accounting and immediately embarked on security business hiring, supervisor and account management until last Monday on 08/05/2013 when he was terminated. He used to work for wakefern Food Corporation that serves ShopRite food chain in Elizabeth New Jersey until his last day. End
