Jesus promised His Disciples that He would send them a Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to strengthen, empower, lead and guide them in their spiritual lives and relationship with Him. (Jn.14:16-18; 16:7,13,14) When Jesus was with them bodily, they just knew that they loved Him and He loved them, they enjoyed being in His presence and hearing the comforting sound of His Voice, yet they didn’t really know Him as they were to later know Him in the Spirit! But when the promise of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost, the Disciples found out that though His body was gone from them, His Spirit was with them in greater power than ever before–and not just with them, but in them!
Like His early Disciples, if you’ve been filled with His Spirit, you can be closer to Jesus and understand His Truth even better than they did when they were with Him physically, because you have His Power and His Spirit within you!
There are some mechanical operations for which doctors and hospitals are necessary, purely mechanical things which they know how to do just like basic car repairs!–Like setting a broken bone or sewing up a cut or helping to deliver a baby. But for most other things, like serious internal maladies, more often than not, they can only experiment around because they don’t even know what’s wrong with you!–Or if they do, they don’t know how to heal it! And often they and their drugs do more damage than good!So why don’t you trust the One Who made you?
Nobody knows the product like the Manufacturer! Send yourself back to the Manufacturer and let Him repair you! He’s got all the parts and everything you need, and He’s the only One Who really understands you and knows how to do it right!
God will use everything you’ve got if you’ll let Him.
“The gifts and calling of God are without repentance” (Rom.11:29), meaning God doesn’t change His mind when He passes out the talents.–He knows who to give them to. And since God was preparing you for His Service even before you were saved, He’s undoubtedly going to use your hidden talents at some time or other, sooner or later, if you’ll just be patient and faithful! (Gal.6:9)
The Lord needs you, and would surely like to use you to help other people. There’s so much work to be done, and God needs every ounce of talent that you’ve got! So you would be wise to sit down and say, “Now God, what do You want me to do?”–Stand back and size up the situation: “This is my calling, but not that. These are my talents, but not that. This is what God wants me to do, this, but not that.”
Lord, You know what’s best. Give each of us the faith and vision we need, to catch a vision for whatever ministry we are best suited, the faith to exercise it and the willingness to take the initiative to do it! In Jesus’s name! God’s Will be done!–And it will, in spite of any of us; but don’t miss the blessing by missing your part! May you invest your talents well and reap great reward! Hallelujah! Use all your talents!
It’s not how long you pray or how much you pray, it’s how much you believe. If you really believe, every prayer is heard and answered. But if you don’t pray it is not done! An awful lot depends on you. God said to Israel one time that bad things were happening because “No man stirreth himself to call upon Me!” (Isa.64:7) The Lord really leaves a lot to US and our concern and prayer. If you only cry with half a heart you only get half an answer. But if you cry with your whole heart you get a whole-hearted strong answer. He says, “Ye shall seek Me and find Me when ye shall search for Me with all your heart!” (Jer.29:13)
When you determine you’re going to pray more and then desperately cry out to God: Boom, boom, boom!–The Holy Spirit goes to work right away and you’ll begin to see some action! He always answers when we stir ourselves to call upon Him with a whole heart. Jesus never fails!–So pray!
