The family of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Masongo Ongau of Kisii, Kenya are saddened to announce the sudden loss of their beloved son Danfus Onguso Masongo who died in a tragic road accident in Kisii town on Sunday, 20th January 2013. Dan was waiting to board a matatu to work when an overspeeding van ran him over and overturned landing on top of him and killing him instantly.
He was brother to Delfine Masongo of Boston, Ma, Robinson Masongo of Mombasa Kenya, Rice Masongo of Elizabeth NJ and Festus Masongo of Nairobi Kenya.
Brother-inlaw to Mbeyu Esther Masongo. He was uncle to Jayden Masongo, Samuel Munge and late Sandra Kerubo . He lives behind a widow Beatrice Kwamboka Kachietano, 7 year old daughter Sherry Binsari Masongo and 3 month old son Galvin Obwaya Masongo. Grandson to late Pastor Peter Obwaya and Yunuke Obwaya and late Gisemba Ongau and late Binsari Ongau.He was a friend,cousin,nephew and mentor to many and he has left a gap that will never be filled.
Dan will be remembered for being a loving brother, devoted husband and father, a committed member of the community, a teacher who loved his job and a very valuable member of the Kenya Examinations Team that marked the exams every year.
He will be laid to rest at his father’s farm in Ibeno, Kisii on Friday,1st February, 2013. He is in a better place, home with the heavenly Father. Farewell Dan. Farewell.
