It is illogical for the police who are trained to reconstruct incidents and uncover mysteries to give scenarios on the events that preceded the death of one of our sister’s Mercy Keino while not acting on the culprits. As a fellow Adventist, I first and foremost offer my condolences to the family but raise the issue about the police’s incompetence to use common sense and prosecute the culprits.
If I recall well, the media made it clear that a man who met the ladies at Wetlands before being joined by two others was known to the two. The revelation is questionable because she is not here to discount the statement. But, we can all attest that the gentlemen remained behind once they arrived at the party but later joined the party without accounting for his mission; staying outside while the rest went inside. The question remains, is he gentleman who requested the ladies’ names before they proceeded to the party for entry purposes as accounted to the media? If he is the name bearer, common sense dedicates that he was to lure the gazelle for slaughter; and his short stint outside was to make final touches for boss have his lunch. That was to be followed by rape ordeal. In the other hand, the man successively delivered his package and went for a ransom. At this point, the boss was waiting in another room.
Now jokes aside?
When mercy became unruly, the MP (Kabogo) self reported that he tried to calm her down. Why and as who? Can’t we sense a hidden agenda? First he just came in, had no prior knowledge of the girl, but all over sudden he is acting father figure and guardian. Why?
Back to the man who had the names. The request was for entry purposes; but in the narration of the events, people just walked in and out of the party without giving out their particulars? This raises a red flag and affirms that the name was to identify the gazelle for spiking the drinks and deliver her to the boss shortly? I gauze you know who the boss was/is in this case.
Now, let us talk about the unruly fiasco caused by the late mercy within the party. She broke glasses, shouted at people and based on the witnesses accounts; it was all in protest for being served beer against her wishes i.e. against her religious beliefs. The police should be intelligent enough not to fall for such a stupid lie. The situation here means more than the eye can meet and that is where the answer to the mysterious death lies. Anyone with common sense should pick it. Why will a beautiful young girl break glasses for being served beer? No grownup can do that. Is there cover-up within this story?
The motive behind her death is revealed within here.
The late Mercy Keino was sold by the two pimps to the boss against her consent. The rest of the actors are middlemen and beneficiaries of such kind of business. Their mission is to deliver young women to bosses for ransoms. The young girls are violated through rape, and there cases go unreported because of the stigma surrounding such ordeals; they live with the shame to avoid being anathema. The men capitalize on the fact that once the deed occurs, no woman in her right mind will want the world to know about it since she have a life to live.
Unlike such undocumented cases, the late mercy’s case pointed otherwise. She sought answers from the people who lured her to the party and none was forthcoming. She decided to stop the party and seek an explanation by breaking glasses protesting a rape ordeal. The MP who I presume knew what was cooking, decided to intervene and show his mighty. Anyway, it was her word against a big short. Contrary to his thinking, late Mercy was determined for justice. She threatened to report the matter to the police. That is when she must have met her death; to conceal evidence of a rape case against a sitting the BOSS.
With this common sense construction, I think the case is easier and clear. When the men manhandled her out of the party, she returned angry and broke glasses. It could be, the men delivered her to the boss who raped her. After the ordeal, she returned seeking an explanation from the party hosts and friends. Her cousin, who I presume is a ringleader in this whole saga, could not be a better witness here. Her bank accounts should be checked as well as her financial status investigated before and after the party. Therein lays the case about ransoms.
As a food for thought! Who lets their cousin, run out of the party without the handbag and never follows up especially if she/he is drank, unruly and in the middle of the night in a strangers house? The cousin got her ransom and thought the cousin was servicing the BOSS’s sexual desires for the night and will be back in the morning. After all was said and done, life was not as normal as expected. It turned out she met death in the process! How tragic.
Therefore, boss has a case to answer and his intervention to calm her in the party is a clear indication that he has a lot to do with this saga. The intervention was to absolve him from the erroneous act. When it fell on deaf ears, he sought to eliminate the evidence, once and for all.
The police have their man and should prosecute him for murder of an innocent sister in Christ.
