“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17, KJV).
A few weeks ago, I walked into a meeting and the worship leader was deeply worshipping God. A few other people were also in that place of deep worship, and surrender to the move of the spirit of God. However, the majority were just nowhere; some were either looking around, while others had their eyes closed, but their minds were not engaged in the worship. Others were just staring at the words of the song and not even opening their mouths, while others were looking at the clock, perhaps wishing the worship should be over soon. I was quickened by the Holy Spirit to get into worship and ignore the acts of those who were not taking part. Then later on I asked the Holy Spirit why people would leave their homes to come to church and then behave as though they were forced to come there. Why would people come to church and then become passive participants of what is taking place?
When we come into the house of God to worship, the devil follows us there in our minds. Unless we learn to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit, it is so common for us to start paying our ¬¬¬¬bills in our minds during worship or during the preaching. It is easy to wonder into the sea of imagination on how the bills are going to be paid. It is easy to start balancing our checks in our minds as the worship goes on and in the process putting a block to what God wants to do in us during the service. This is why we walk into church with burdens and leave with burdens; and we come in sick and walk out sick. It happens because although we came into the house of God who says “bring all your burdens to me”, we do not give him our burdens, but hold on to them. God knows this will happen and has provided a way of escape for you and me. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through him to pull down those thoughts that would rise against his word. Before you go to church allow the spirit of God to cleanse you of any worry and anything that will try to steal your attention from the presence of our God.
God is calling us to be attentive in the spirit today because the devil is looking to deceive even the elect. Today it has become very clear than ever before that our minds can become our own enemies. Our minds are filled with tons of imaginations of fear; imaginations of how our situations are going to turn out; and all these imaginations are not based on the word of God. The devil is taking advantage of our current situations be it financial hardship, loan modification, marriage, joblessness, sickness, or foreclosure, to drive us insane. The devil is basically using imagination to make mountains out of molehills to undermine our faith in God. He first corrupts our minds with fear. It could be fear from the media or fear from what has happened to others. He then moves on to discouraging us by building mountains out of our situations. For example, if you are sick today, the devil will tell you are going to die. If your children are in the world, in drugs, lost in alcoholism or living alternative lifestyles the devil will tell you they will never change.
Now pulling down imaginations is something that no one else can do for you. You must take authority as an individual to confront the spirit of vain imaginations, and you have the power and the ability from God to do this. Every time you realize that your thought is not from God, immediately cast it out. Just say “I pull down that thought from my mind and plead the blood of Jesus over my thought patterns right now, and Satan you have no authority to trespass Jesus blood line in my thoughts.” Learn to cancel every evil imagination that will try to exalt itself above the knowledge of God by speaking out what the word says about your mind. Learn to nullify every negative word that has been spoken over you and your family and any curse that will try to take hold of your thoughts or thought patterns. Your mind should be fixed on the things of God. When problems come they should be resolved by the steps given in the word of God. The word of God has all solutions to our life challenges. Remember he says in Isaiah 59:19, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” The Lord wants to fight the battle on our behalf, but we have to be ready to respond in obedience to his instructions in this hour. He is attentive to our cries; let us also be attentive to what he is saying to us. We cannot be passive like Lot who allowed Sodomites into the city; we cannot to be half-hearted like Joash. We cannot allow the spirit of hopelessness to creep in because we are not to be hopeless! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV). The secret to serving in this hour and living a victorious life is to renew your mind with the word of God; seek him; wait upon him; and rest in him. As you do this, he will keep you in perfect peace because he has promised to do so to everyone whose mind stays upon him.
