There comes a time in life when you feel like your dreams and efforts have stagnated. You are not sure of the next move; even making a move looks and feels scary. It is when your hope seems to have been wiped out. It is when your ground has not only been shaken, but sunk; your world delivered as Fox America puts it, becomes your world snatched away, or your world undelivered. So the question in this condition becomes how we move on from here. How do you reverse things that have gone south?
Look, life is full of irritating situations and people may act like we are living in the dark ages. Hence, life as we live it presents us conditions that seem confusing and unpredictable. These should, however, not make us quit. If they do then all we are ever going to do is be quitters! And thats not a title we want hung around our necks. None of the men and women God used in the Bible were quitters. In fact no one has ever made a real difference for Christ whos been a quitter.
Im pretty sure that everybody has felt like quitting on something at some point during their lives. This is where something called determination comes to play. There is a lot that can be accomplished when someone is really determined. Your mindset should be that of nothing takes me out. Your dream will only flourish if you feed it with determination. If you feed your dream and plans with negativity, you will be defeated and quit. You might be knocked down, your strength to walk again might be growing weak, but be determined to crawl towards your destiny; be determined towards achieving all you were intended for in life.
You might be holding a degree in your hands, with no Job. You might be in school, and wondering what next considering what is happening around. Pick up what you think has been broken be it broken dreams, promises ort broken trust. Your future is in Gods hands. You might be in a place where nothing is making sense right now. The bible, however, says that when we are weak then He is strong for us. This is the moment you can go to God and tell Him how confused you feel and how helpless you feel asking him to help your unbelief.
Being a quitter and a faithful disciple is a contradiction in terms. We have been called to continue in faith, we have been told that He who called us is faithful and will accomplish what he started in us. That desire He put in you and me before we were born, He wants to protect it and defend and fulfill it. All he wants is when the devil shows up to kill that which God has put in you, is for you to agree with God and not the devil.
Look at the life Joseph in the Bible. His story is one of great pain, suffering and tribulation. Yet, it is also one of joy and tremendous accomplishment. However, it was the test of his character during times of crisis that would define Joseph as a person. Joseph must have asked questions and even sat alone trying to figure out how he ended up in this predicament. The pain caused by the injustice that he endured was almost unbearable. He might have asked What could I have possibly done? Where did I go wrong? He might have retraced the events that led to his imprisonment, thinking back to the day that forever changed the course of his life.
Joseph had been made a slave in Egypt. The hand of God, however, was on him. He had a relationship with God, he trusted God who prospered him in everything he did and Potiphar saw it. Fact is your enemy will see the evidence of Gods hand and his favour upon your life. So the things they have said about you, the mockery and the pain you are going through is calling out for a higher ground of anointing in your life. The Bible says that Potiphar promoted Joseph, making him overseer of his entire household. So this tells me that there is promotion even in what you have persevered in as chaos or torture in your current situation. Not only is there promotion in your pain but God being full of good sense of humor blesses your enemy even when your prayer was that he should kill them. Potiphar was blessed because of Joseph. This tells us that in any situation the devil or people cause us to go through, seek to be excellent. If you can not excellent in your pain, how you can be excellent in happiness. Learn to make lemonade out of lemons. When they push you to a corner, crawl out of it. While in prison, Joseph still prospered; he figured out he needed to do the right thing no matter his situation or place in a particular point of life. Little did Joseph know that his deliverance was just around the corner for God eventually exalted Joseph.
Do you know that your weakest moments can be your great moments if you rely on God? Paul wrote most of his letters in the Bible when he was in prison. You can turn your chaos into triumphs, by knowing that God will be with you in the crises. The fire will not burn you though you will be walking in the fire. You might smell like smoke, you might feel the heat, but the power of the fire has been quenched by the power of the Holy Spirit. Beloved of God refuse to be intimidated by what the devil is doing a round you. He does all things so you can throw your hands up and say enough is enough, someone kill me please. But child of God you cannot give up, continue fighting the good fight.

Faces of desperation and despair is the hallmark of Kenyas third largest lake side city of Kisumu following the bloody post election violence early this year.
In a desperate bid to express their bitterness, the protesters allied to an opposition party seemed to have over stretched their limits by torching and looting with glee private properties like shops and supermarkets in full glare of the police who did little to counter them for reasons which arent clear to date.
The looting spree was that shocking due to the fact that even well known couples in the locality were filmed carrying loots.
In some slum areas in town, I managed to come across several mud thatched tiny houses which could not accommodate loots like Refrigerators, TV sets and modern music systems and they had to be pegged via the entrance nicely covered by polythene bags to protect them from the rains and the scorching sun.
Surprisingly, the local authorities (the Police) have decided not to device mechanisms of retrieving them or to even take the necessary action against these known blunderers in order to curb what now seems like a precedent.
Since I was born I have never encountered such a barbaric scenario, quipped Mr. Raju Patel a local employer who lost goods worth millions of dollars.
In total I had over 50 workers 10 drivers not included but now I cant guarantee their fate Raju wondered.
Latest survey by a local non governmental organization (N.G.O) puts the job losers to be around a staggering figures of 20,000 and hopes of restoring confident to the investors is still pegged on the mediation talks whose verdict is yet to come.
Most of the workers who lost their jobs in the said affected areas could be seen in clusters along the streets pondering in low tones about their future.
It will require a sustained massive crusade among the stake holders to restore the confidence of investors if the town is to be reconstructed and restored back to its lost glory.
As a result of the drastic job losses state of insecurity has gripped the city and its environs but the newly posted police boss in a recent interview with the press expressed optimism that the situation will soon be calm.
Ive put measures which will guarantee maximum security for the residents in the city and to the entire province, vowed Mr. Antony Kibuchi.
I equally need the support of all the stake holders like opinion leaders, members of the business community if were to achieve our desired goals, Kibuchi concluded

Post election violence in Kenya has resulted into various problems among the most notable one is the internally displaced people who live in camps for fear of attacks from their aggressors.
Entrenched animosity seems to have taken centre stage among various communities who have co-existed for ages as brothers and sisters and even intermarried.
The culmination of the latest rage is attributed to land disputes, unfair distribution of resources and alleged election fraud by the current establishment.
Non Governmental originations (NGOs) and the government have put up various camps in secluded places to cater for the massive figures.
Food, drugs and other basics provisions are being offered to these hapless victims on a daily basis unfortunately children of between 10-18 years are mostly affected after their parents were either lynched or hacked to death by hooligans.
In IDP Kisumu camp two employees of the Red Cross who are supposed to cater for these destitute were fired after they were caught making merry in one of the tents in the night. Interestingly it was one of the little girls who saw the barbaric scenario and raised the alarm which resulted to their arrest and dismissal.
Earlier, there had been rumors that some amorous employees of the red cross were taking advantage of the young girls to sexually molest them and with the recent shocking revelation, some credence to the claim is now added.
Owing to the fore going its now feared that the escalations of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV/AIDS cold be in the offing, confided one of the health experts in the tents who spoke to the press on a condition of anonymity.
Public Eye Team
Kenya is listed as one of the countries in Africa that is abiding by rules and principles of democracy. Now America, under the Republican leadership of George Bush, has shown great concern in Africa and Kenya especially on democracy and rule of law to stop anarchy from coming to this strategic country.
In the past, Republicans have downplayed Africa but this time George Bush the Republican president himself has made history in Africa. There is no doubt of the concern the Republican administration has shown in the form of foreign Aid to support HIV/AIDS programs, Malaria projects and other humanitarian aid. The Republican drumbeats are now echoing Africa; men are waiting for cows to return from the grazing grounds so that they could assemble them in their kraals and join the orgy of celebration.
Africans dont buy clothes before the child is born. The Republicans challenge now is to make sure democracy, the rule of law and power sharing with executive powers of the majority is brought to the mediation table to pass it into constitutional law before another election is conducted. Africa without foreign policing and watchdogs, especially in the current Kenya, needs a lot to be done to make sense of politics.
Some tribes feel that they were born with leadership and others want leadership of high level even if the person they support is wrong. A good example is Kalonzo Musyoka who knows the thief but anyway stands behind the Judas of Kenya at the expense of post election violence. The man lacks honesty, integrity and respect of human rights for those who voted but whose wishes were misdirected. Kalonzo Musyoka is the Vice President but of circumstance. He doesnt get overwhelming respect like any VP due to his doublespeak.
When America says no to dictatorship in Kenya along with European countries, China says it will continue to construct roads anyway. Democratic super powers have not recognized Kibaki but China says it doesnt matter. By the way China is short sighted because their payment is drawn from taxpayers.
China has the expertise to imitate every manufactured commodity from America, why is it hard for China to imitate the same democracy?
The visit by George Bush to Tanzania which borders Kenya and then seconded by Secretary Of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice who went directly to the mediation table, is not something the so called self imposed leadership has to take lightly. That is high profile diplomacy that has a message to work for. Let that diplomatic visit lead to power sharing, no clinging to power when clearly power was stolen andlet the executive being given to the majority like any government in the world. Kibakis leadership is proving to be that of past decades. The majority in any parliament, including the one monkeys have in the forest, is given the task of running the daily business of the government; not a minority thief.
Illegal immigrants from Spanishspeaking countries waiting to be given menial jobs. They wake up early morning and wait on the roadside in Ridgefield NJ.Some of them ran away from the camera.
America, being the land of opportunity with economic advancement and academic opportunities, exposure to all sorts of things including fair political choice and expression, should earn respect and recognition. Many countries, without naming them, discourage illegal immigration even if it means death, but America, although against illegal immigration, extends her hand to reach those who are disadvantaged.
Illegal means Prohibited by law; against the law, and Alien means A foreigner who is a resident, not naturalized citizen, or a resident without immigration status.
America the land of opportunity is sometimes the land of misfortunes. Several immigrants flock the borderline to be crossed over to US by middlemen known as coyotes who smuggle across several immigrants using panya (tricky) routes which border patrol agents sometimes dont man. The United States border with Mexico is dangerous since many immigrants at times die due to heat exhaustion before they reach their destination. Most illegal immigrants from the Mexican side are from Spanish speaking countries who speak little or no English. They cross the border for greener pastures of nothing more than menial jobs that pay more than being unemployed in their countries or which pay better in dollars, which are stronger than their local currency.
Up to this juncture it has been routinely perceived that illegal immigration and border security enforcement is only on the US/Mexico border, forgetting the US/Canada border. US immigration officials forgets that if one applies for a visa to come to the US and is denied, but tries Canada and gets one, nothing can prevent such a person from trying to enter the US if those ambitions and desires still exist. Partiality on border patrol and enforcement may not be well served if one side of the border has several homeland security agents while the other side of the border is has fewer agents. US/Mexico border and US/Canada border need equal enforcement. Unless the US and Canada share visa information there is a way of reaching the US through Canada.
Illegal Immigrants Jobs
Those lucky ones who manage to enter the land of opportunity may work and be paid under the table. Some jobs are not competitive since some of them are domestic like baby sitting, taking care of the elderly and terminally ill patients, construction and farm jobs which the indigenous citizens dont want to do except owning companies to get more contracts for such like immigrants.
In as much as illegal immigrants are looking forward to entering the US through backdoor means, there are those that immigrate to the US through work visas for some special jobs, through student visas and decide to stay; some come as visitors and end up changing their status to permanent resident. Some come for the sake of coming to see the American dream and truly decide to make an American dream their life.
Holding Traveling Documents
To many people it is not fair to hold any passport of anyone who has just visited a fellow countryman in a foreign country, especially the United States. There are Africans and especially Kenyans who are illegally holding passports of their relatives, more specifically the elderly, in an attempt to keep them working for them. On cases like this, it is completely illegal to keep anybody, including family members, hostage by keeping their traveling documents for the sake of using them to work or keep them company. There is a Kenyan lady in Raleigh, North Carolina whose passport is being held hostage for reasons unknown. For those who are not exposed on this, it is illegal and prosecutable to keep somebody from traveling by hijacking their documents and since they dont know where to get them from they suffer humiliation and other related human abuses.
The Church and Illegal Immigration
The Church is not the State since the two are separate. At no time is the Church involved in enforcing illegal immigration. The Church takes the body of a human being who is an illegal immigrant as the temple of the lord. There is no given time the Church may endorse mistreatment of immigrants who want to better their lives; the Church may not support illegal immigration but if those immigrants are in the US already, the Church is likely to fight for their rights.
If a human being who is the temple of the lord is mistreated or goes without food and steals, or rapes due to separation of his family by immigration laws, the Church is clean and clear. The Church would like such immigrants to have fair treatment. The Church will oppose the whole scenario.

The PNU functionaries have been shouting hoarse to any and all who could lend them an ear that ours is a sovereign state, which does not need any lecture on whether or not stealing elections is immoral, criminal and undemocratic. A sovereign state, indeed, that has been free and independent of the imperial British rule for now over four decades but with nothing significant to thump the chest about. A sovereign state, indeed, that prides itself in abject poverty, high unemployment rates, high mortality rates, and a sham of security apparatus for her citizens.
Whoever said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely was right on target, and Mr. Wetangula, Ms. Karua, and the irrelevant Musyoka are a case in point. These were once upon a time champions of democracy and human rights issues up to and until they tasted raw power. Like hyenas they have tasted blood and nothing is going to stop them from having more of it even if it is going to cost Kenyans more blood, more displacement, and more chaos. In situations like this, the subconscious barbaric instincts take over, thus becoming the most dominant traits of an otherwise civil and reasonable citizen.
The presidents foot soldiers have been striving to outdo one another in telling the world that the people of Kenya elected the president and PNU into office and therefore any advice insinuating to the contrary must cease especially if it is coming from foreigners. These crooks know more than everyone else that everything in our country is not well and that the thoughts and words of foreign nations about the current government matter very much and that is why they are crying wolf. They know that thoughts and words will shortly after be followed by actions and that means fewer funds to finance their privileged lifestyles.
What PNU must actualize before late is the fact that Kenyas sovereignty or of any other poor nation for that matter, is a sham and fairy tale. Mr. Wetangula and his team that has been shouting wolf should realize that the sooner they coil they tails like a cornered dog and start negotiating with ODM in earnest, and with a reconciliatory spirit, the better for them and for Kenyans as whole than being finally unceremoniously arm-twisted into what they already know as the end result of the negotiation process.
My friends you cannot simply wish away the involvement of the global community in this process. The international community never created this mess in the first place. It is something you noise makers and you good-for-nothing politicians caused upon the innocent citizenry that compelled the rest of the world to stop attending to their most pressing problems in order to succor the two protagonists see sense of keeping Kenya peaceful. It is amazing how politicians always find a way of ducking the blame of their reckless utterances that inflame, incite and cause hatred and anarchy and instead accuse foreign countries of colonial mentality when theirs is imparting sense where none seems to flourish.
Politicians are so blinded by raw power and think that they can do anything and get away with it especially in the present world. The case of Iraq and Afghanistan must be very fresh in our minds and it beats logic to note that the memory of Kenyan politicians is so short lived. The truth is that the international community is capable of changing leadership in Kenya and nobody will say ngwee. But instead the so-called foreign countries have continued to work with PNU and ODM to broker a peaceful resolution to an otherwise explosive crisis. Their input is very much welcome and the dangling of the carrot and the stick has continued to put pressure on both sides of the political divide and has compelled them to not only talk to each other but also to negotiate in earnest.
Mr. Wetangula should also know that these foreign countries have profound interests in our country. Foreign citizens have invested heavily in the stock market and other sectors of the economy, courtesy of Kibaki administration, and there is need therefore to ensure that these investments are not simply destroyed by some insatiable political elite. Unless the foreign minister is soo.oo nave and un-insightful, his uncalled for and totally irrelevant bravados should be stopped and instead channel those energies, efforts, and resources into a meaningful way of helping those Kenyans who are still languishing in refugee camps, as if they are second class citizens of our country.
How soon have people forgotten that soon after stealing elections, Wetangula and Musyoka were both dispatched to foreign countries to argue for their legitimacy. The countries did not buy into your silly propaganda and that is why they are all bitter about them. It is a shame that you spend too much money on useless and fruitless foreign trips instead of using the same funds to resettle those that we have artificially displaced within our borders. Use your brains if still you have any remaining. We call upon the international community to zero-in on Wetangula, Musyoka, Martha and also some others from the ODM side and their families and you will see how soon the negotiation process will end. It is also time both teams are told to foot any and all expenses arising from the unnecessary delaying of the negotiation process.
And another thing my friend, Condi Rice is arriving in the country this Monday and unfortunately to your chagrin she is going to state what Bush has already spelled out, that a coalition government is inevitable and displaced individuals must be resettled and soon. I am sure Mr. Wetangula will be personally present as the minister in charge in welcoming Ms. Rice, and indeed applauding as she speaks. And like it or not, that is what PNU is going to do and some of you idiots are going to be dropped to pave way for serious leadership. I do not dislike PNU as a party, but I only dislike their unlearned and demagoguery sort of thinking. I honestly believe that they can do better particularly in serving the interests of all Kenyans.
Sovereignty is not an empty slogan but a status of being that spells ones ability to channel her resources in charting her future and destiny. A child will never claim sovereignty until the parent recognizes some salient traits that identify her as mature, responsible, and independent. Until we develop these traits, our curses, yawing, and all manner of foam and spew will continue to depict the need for close supervision. Unfortunately that is how things stand as at now, though we wish they could be otherwise.
